St. Peter's
Episcopal Preschool
Weekly Newsletter
First off, welcome to St. Peter's Episcopal Preschool! We are so glad to have your child with us! This has been a vision of Father Jack, our director, Hallie, and the preschool board members for quite some time. We are just thrilled to have things up and going! We teachers have been working hard in the room, getting centers set up and preparing activities for the children to do. We hope that they will learn, grow, and be both
entertained and surprised every day!
We want to keep all lines of communication open with parents, so we have set up a Parent Shelf above the children's cubby shelf. This is your go-to place, and will house the sign in/ sign out sheet, special parent letters, and student folders. Please take the time to check your child's folder both in the morning and afternoon, for they will hold anything from newsletters to your child's latest artistic expression! This will also be where you will find the notice of your child's Show & Share date.
When you walk into the room, you will see our 'Daily Jobs' chart. One of the jobs is 'Show and Share,' which is when the child will bring something from home to share with the class. This can be a favorite stuffed animal or book, a photo from a vacation or of family members, or something else of the sort. We will give you advance notice of what day it will be your child's turn, via the student folders. We won't be starting this
activity until next week, but be talking with your child about what he/she might like to share with the other students!
If you are looking to donate or know someone who is looking to donate any of these items, please keep SPEP in mind: Blocks (1-inch minimum), dolls, dress-up items, outdoor toys.
Next week, the week of October 8th, will kick-off our Pumpkin Patch unit! We are asking that each child bring a large brown paper sack (grocery size) to school to get us started. Also, if you have any unused phone books lying around, please bring them, too! The torn-out pages will be great for stuffing our pumpkins!
